A: That seems to apply to fractions, roots, etc., and not decimals. If it did, perhaps we'd only allow .4 and not 0.4! For dollars, answers should show two places, such as $0.40 and not $0.4 Q: But 0.40 is the same as 40/100 and that's not simplified! A: And 0.4 is the same as 4/10 and that's not simplified either.
