of
Eastern
Massachusetts
Fall Meeting –
September 17, 2003
Austin Preparatory School
Reading, MA
- Refreshments
were served.
- Roll
Call: 28 schools present
- Minutes
from Spring ‘03 meeting distributed and approved.
- Treasurer’s
report from Kelly McCormack:
$3077.11 in treasury, which is an increase of approximately $500
from last year. Approved.
- Tabulator’s
report by Bob Velevis: Bob again
requests that rosters be listed alphabetically, last name first. Also, a student’s grade needs to be
checked, as there have been errors in the past. VP’s should check all rosters for
accuracy and recopy as necessary.
- Test-Writer’s
report by Kent Findell: Kent
proposed that counting problems be included in category 3 in meet 5. Vaag Mosca presented a packet on
counting problems. After reviewing
the material, it was voted to include counting problems in category 4 of
meet 5, which will now read, “Probability and Counting.” Category 4 of meet 1 will now read,
“Order of Operations and Statistics.”
This will be done this year and reviewed at the end of the school
year.
- Webmaster
report by Kip Bryan: The web site
address was distributed. Coaches
are encouraged to share this information with the students. Kent Findell will include the address on
the bottom of tests. Meet questions
will not be posted on the web until advisers receive results of the
meet. “Job postings” will be
eliminated from the web site.
- By-Law
corrections:
- Issues
will be resolved at the meet with the VP making a final decision for that
day. Communication will occur
amongst VP, president, tabulator, and test writer.
- The
words “division” and “cluster” will be reversed.
- Discussion
of possible name change of league was tabled until the Spring
meeting.
- A vote
was taken to increase VP stipends from $xxx to $yyy: Accepted. (redacted, see Advisors area)
- Geographic
clusters were distributed and cluster meetings took place.
Respectfully submitted,
Tony Biscardi
