Intermediate Mathematics League
of Eastern Massachusetts
1. The meeting was held at Prince House in Saugus. Pizza, Salad, and Soda served.
2. Roll call of teams - Nineteen teams were represented (21 coaches total) (2 others arrived but had to leave due to school functions).
3. Minutes of the fall meeting were distributed and unanimously approved as written.
4. Tabulator’s Report – Tony Biscardi for Scott Govoni: Thank you for patience as Scott had to create database from scratch, entering over 500 names after first meet. He asked all coaches to please type of print neatly students names. It is difficult to transcribe handwriting accurately.
5. Division Configuration 2006 – 2007: Distributed and approved.
6. Treasurer's report, presented by Kelly McCormack: Balance after outstanding checks are cashed will be $4,796.83. Expenses from the spring meeting (including trophies and plaques) will come out of the balance. 2005: $4,444.99; 2004: $4,562.78; 2003: $4636.95. The report was approved unanimously.
7. Proposal to raise pay of officers became tied to increase in dues
v Each officer present discussed work and hours involved in job
v After much discussion, and different proposals, decision was made to increase pay for some positions (edited*)
o Stipends: Treasurer: $xxx; President: $xxx; Web Master: $xxx; Tabulator: $xxx; Test Writer: $xxx (edited*)
v Dues will be raised by $15 dollars next year, bringing dues to $200.
8. Proposal to add Webmaster position with description to by-laws accepted as proposed by Kip.
9. Webmaster Report by Kip Bryan
v Kip displayed a practice packet for coaches who were interested
v Kip read a positive letter from former president and coach, Carol Clark
v Contests on web in “Word” in a “coaches only” section
o www.imlem.org/private For username and password, please contact web master.
o Contests will still be available in present format as well from main page
v President will send email addresses to Web master so he may email updates to coaches when web site is updated.
v We will put statement on web site granting permission for anyone to re-use contest questions for educational not-for-profit use, providing IMLEM is credited
v Kip distributed some CD’s by lottery of practice aids he had put together.
10. Test Writer’s Report: Kent Findell: Kent distributed a graph of the score break-down by meet and varying difficulties discussed.
11. Topics for 2006 – 2007 distributed and approved after minor changes:
v Meet 4 Cat 4 add: Compound Interest
v Bylaw wording change to cat 1 Mystery: “There is no set list of topics for this cat”
v By-laws will be fixed to reflect what we do: Change to: “as outlined on the schedule of topics”
12. President will now email draft of meeting minutes within 4 weeks of meeting to coaches
v Minutes will also be posted on web site with the specification, “draft.”
13. President and Test-Writer will now sign a statement that tests and other league products are “works made for hire under the US Copyright laws”
v Both the President and the Test Writer signed the document (attached) after the meeting.

15. Awards distributed.
